Wine Notes
Winemaker Notes:
The grapes for this wine were primarily sourced from two specially selected vineyards in the Blind River sub-region of the Awatere Valley, with the balance coming from the rich silts of the Lower Wairau Valley. Each vineyard was carefully monitored during ripening so the fruit could be picked at optimum maturity in cool conditions. After harvest, the grapes were transported to the winery with haste for immediate pressing, with minimal skin contact to prevent juice deterioration. After settling, each batch was cool fermented in stainless steel tanks using a variety of cultured yeasts to add complexity, and to preserve the fresh fruit characteristics from each of the vineyards. Shortly after fermentation, each batch was assessed and the best parcels were selected and blended before being prepared for bottling.
