WSSA Change in NZ May 2008 The US-based Wine and Spirits Shippers Association has appointed Albatrans NZ to handle its members’ shipments of wine and spirits, effective June 1, 2008:
Albatrans New Zealand Limited
77 Montgomerie Road
Auckland International Airport
Telephone: +64 9 257 6010
Email: John Sargent at: j.sargent@albatrans.co.nz
This appointment will benefit WSSA members with enhanced logistics capabilities and integrated tracking and tracing for their orders. Any orders in process which will ship in the month of May will be handled by WSSA’s current forwarder; any orders that will ship June 1 or later will be handled by Albatrans. The change is designed to be seamless for all parties involved in the shipments.
The Wine and Spirits Shippers Association was established in 1976 with the continuing goal to provide superior ocean freight service at preferentially low freight costs to members. Most of WSSA’s 600+ members are wine importers in the United States, but several are New Zealand wine exporters. WSSA began actively handling New Zealand beverage exports to North America in 1997, and currently represents over half of NZ’s wine exports to the United States. WSSA has developed a worldwide relationship with Albatrans companies, and has worked with Albatrans’ management since WSSA’s beginning in 1976.
