Lawson's Dry Hills Gewürztraminer 2006 |
| Wine Description |
|
Off - dry in style, this wine combines an expressive floral bouquet with lychee and ginger flavours. The full bodied palate is richly textured with great concentration and a long spicy finish. |
| Tasting Notes |
|
On the nose this wine is aheady mix of floral(rose petal) fruit(passionfruit, lychee) and spice(ginger, cinnamon). The palate is rich, fleshy and concentrated with a distinctive spicy finish. In the young wine lychee, stonefruit and a gentle perfumed character dominate the palate.Given time this wine will develop further complexity with musky notes appearing and the palate becoming richer and more rounded. |
| Winemakers Notes |
|
At the foot of Marlborough's dry Wither Hills adjacent to our winey, the Lawson's and Woodward vineyards consistently produce intensely flavoured Gewürztraminer grapes. The warm early season lead us to pick these grapes on March 18th 2006, both the condition and the ripness of the fruit were ideal |

A classically ginger and lychees nose leads to rich and vibrant flavours of ginger and spices. The residual sugar makes for a medium style that is generous, velvety and opulent. The finish is very long and delightful. A wine of the highest class. |
