Greystone Pinot Gris
Medium in style this is high class Pinot Gris that exhibits the required fruit concentration as well as clean acidity and balanced alcohol. Thus you get ripe melon and peardrop flavours that linger on the finish. Good with food too. More

Hihi Semillon
We do not usually award 'Top Tips' to four star wines but there is not much semillon about and this is a very fine example and deserves to be applauded. There is delicious lemony freshness here with an oily texture and super concentration and length. Try it - so will not be disappointed. More

Cathedral Cove Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
This wine had the disadvantage of being the first wine that we tasted and yet it still scored very impressively. It has powerful tropical aromas with peach, gooseberry and capsicum flavours that are entwined with a crisp acidity and excellent mouthfeel. Just sensational value and available in many supermarkets. Waimea Barrel Selection Pinot Noir
The top rated Pinot in this tasting with one judge giving it her highest ever rating! The wine has wonderful dense and peppery aromas. The flavours are intensely ripe and juicy with good complexity and excellent fuit/oak integration. The finish just goes on and on. And all for $23.90 - hurry! More

Grove Mill Grand Reserve Riesling
Indisputably our favourite Riesling in the tasting. This is the first 'Reserve' style that Grove Mill have made and long may they continue doing so. Citrus and kerosene abound on the nose whilst there is stacks of juicy, zingy, concentrated fruit in the palate wrapped around a velvety texture and perfectly balanced acidity. Get some. More

Invivo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
This is the second vintage of Invivo's sauvignon and by a majority verdict it was voted the best sauvignon in the tasting. Intense tropical aromas with herbal undertones succumb to passionfruit and grapefruit flavours and are heightened by the zingy acidity giving the wine weight and length to perfectly compliment it dry, crisp style. Get some. More

Yealands Estate Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc
Stone fruit, minerals and herbs on the nose and blackcurrants, nettles and citrus in the palate. The result is a big wine with strong acidity, weight and length. This sauvignon is going to last and improve. Put some in the cellar. More

Spinyback Pinot Gris
Proper Pinot Gris - the honeysuckle nose succumbs to the orange peel flavours that combine very elegantly with the crisp acidity. Rich and powerful this wine has excellent length and will continue to improve. More

Gravitas Sauvignon Blanc
Asparagus nuances are prevalent on the nose whilst the palate delivers savoury capsicum with an excellent and balanced acid backbone. This wine has developed well and is good with food too. More

Salvare Merlot Rose
This rose has an absolutely fantastic colour. The nose is one rich berries and confectionary. Its flavours are clean, soft with good berry freshness combined with a decent acidity. Good value. More
